David's Story
David was raised in the Roseland community on the south side of Chicago where he was swept by the wiles of urban life in his youth. He came to faith in Christ as a teenage gang leader through the evangelistic ministries of the Salem Baptist Church of Chicago. Here his life was miraculously transformed and he grew in his faith under the leadership of the senior Pastor, James T. Meeks and the tutelage of the Youth Pastor, Rev. Harvey F. Carey. David has a heart for the lost and a passion for communicating the Word of God, understanding its power to deliver anyone. Evangelism, education, and community outreach are key highlights of his ministry. He has traveled extensively ministering the gospel in a variety of contexts, through traditional ministry methods as well as the arts. His vision is to create a community of believers who will transform the lives of people and their communities through discipleship.
